The Financial Management and Accounting Unit is a management tool in the Ministry. Establish and operate a well coordinated decentralised financial management system that ensures efficient resource mobilisation, equitable allocation and accountability.

Objectives of the Unit

  • To ensure that activities are sufficiently funded according to budget at national and lower levels.
  • Strengthening accounting units at provincial and board level through training and transfer of skills.
  • To ensure that regular and timely quarterly and annual financial statements are produced.
  • To implement and maintain a sound integrated financial reporting system (IFMIS)
  • To coordinate budget preparation and implementation
