Solicitor General MARSHAL MUCHENDE Urges Zambian Diplomats To Align Themselves With President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA’s Ways Of Operation

Solicitor General MARSHAL MUCHENDE has urged Zambian diplomats to align themselves with President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA’s ways of operating as he has set the Economic Diplomacy bar high.
Mr. MUCHENDE was in London with a delegation from the Ministry of Energy, ZESCO and legal experts for talks with a company seeking to establish a coal power plant in Zambia.
The company however differed with the previous government leading to litigation.
Speaking on Friday afternoon when the delegation visited the chancery, Mr. MUCHENDE, advised the staff to align themselves with government policies.
Mr. MUCHENDE said the delegation has been instructed to resolve issues out of Court and out of Arbitration.
He said the government inherited huge debt which President HICHILEMA is dealing with as seen from securing the 6.3-billion dollars debt restructuring.
And Ministry of Energy Permanent Secretary FRANCESCA ZYAMBO said Mr. MUCHENDE ably handled the case.
Dr. ZYAMBO called on the company to feel free to come back to Zambia, and help in developing the country’s energy sector.
Dr. ZYAMBO said energy issues were on the agenda of President HICHILEMA and that he wants a proper agenda for energy sufficiency in the country.
And Special Assistant to the President for Legal Affairs CHRISTOPHER MUNDIA said the discussions went on well considering what was at stake.
Mr. MUNDIA said Zambia was looking at a huge liability but expressed optimism of things going well.
