The Ministry of Energy, with support from the USAID Alternatives to Charcoal (A2C) held its 3rd quarter subcommittee meetings for the Zambia Gender and Energy Network (ZGEN) from 17th – 18th September 2024. The meetings brought together stakeholders from different subsectors and saw the elections of new office bearers for the subcommittees.
The ZGEN has the following sub-committees
Awareness and outreach Investment and Resource Mobilisation Monitoring and Learning Knowledge sharing and capacity building.
The main objective for the Zambia Energy and Gender Network is to create a platform that will spearhead the implementation and actualisation of the policy measures on gender in the National Energy Policy and associated strategies such as the Gender Strategy and Action Plan as well as bring to the attention of Government the gender specific requirements in the Energy Sector.
