The Off-Grid Task Force (OGTF) Sub-Committees Conclude their Meetings

7 – 10 October, 2024

 The OGTF Zambia 4 subcommittees, the Electrification and Productive use of Energy Sub-Committee, the Bioenergy Subcommittee, the Finance and Fiscal Incentives Subcommittee and the  Capacity Building and Cross Cutting Subcommittee, successfully concluded their meeting in preparation of the fourth coming OGTF big Indaba meeting to be held on October 30.

The meetings reviewed their 2024 activities to determine what has been achieved, what failed and what needs to be followed up, before the end of the year. Each Committee also spent time discussing the highlights of its activities and the preparation of the 2025 workplan.

The first to kick off the one week meetings was the Bioenergy Subcommittee. It held its meeting on Monday, 7 October 2024. The second meeting was held on Tuesday by the Electrification and Productive use of Energy Sub-Committee, and the Capacity Building and Cross Cutting Subcommittee, followed on Wednesday, the ninth. The last to meet was the Finance and Fiscal Incentives Subcommittee on 11 October 2024.

Speaking after the last meeting, the Beyond the Grid Fund Africa (BGFA) Institutional Expert, Lloyd Chingambo expressed delight with high level of attendance participation.  He said, “He was impressed with the good attendances and high level participation during the meetings. He was also encouraged by the levels of commitment by the members.”

And speaking on behalf of the Ministry of the Energy, the OGTF Focus Person, Agnelli Kafuwe, Senior Energy Officer said he was happy to see that every year, there is a visible improvement in the work of the Subcommittees. “I look forward to the fourth coming big meeting on October 30, 2024, where all the four Subcommittees will gather,” he said.
