The Energy Regulation Board (ERB) has announced that, as of 20 November 2025, it has approved 29 license applications and 12 construction permits across the petroleum, electricity, and renewable energy sectors. These approvals represent a combined investment pledge of ZMW 6 billion (approximately US$266 million).
According to the ERB, the surge in approvals signals growing investor confidence in Zambia’s energy sector and demonstrates the benefits of the country’s predictable, safe, and efficient regulatory processes.
