The Department of Finance is responsible for the management of financial resources to facilitate the implementation of the Ministry’s programmes. It is also responsible for provision of finances for execution of the ministerial annual budget.

• The specific functions of the department are to:

  1. Manage all financial matters of the Ministry
  2. Prepare financial reports
  • Liaise with the Ministry of Finance on the disbursement of funds
  1. Collaborate with the Planning Department on the preparation of budgets and disbursement of funds in accordance with programs and activities outlined in the Strategic Plan and Annual Work Plans
  2. Undertake asset valuation
  3. Collaborate with Department of Petroleum and MOF on matters related to verification and payment of suppliers of petroleum products in line with the contract.
